According to the tradition we held our annual martyr's memorial in the Balassagyarmat Orthodox Jewish Cemetery in front of the martyr's memorial monument. Mr. József Bauer, Chairman of the Jewish Community of Balassagyarmat welcomed the app. 100-120 publishes, including Mr. Lajos Medvácz, Mayor of Balassagyarmat City, Mr. István Lombos, former member of Parliament, representatives of all the historic churches, and the Congregation of Faith, all those who emigrated to the inland and abroad and visitors from the the Danube and Ipoly Region. He recalled the tragic events that happened 69 years ago, the brutal destruction of Jews of Balassagyarmat and its area. Rabbi Gábor Fináli single handled the tasks of the Rabbi and the Cantor. In his touching speech he remembered the innocent hundreds of thousands deported to concentration and extermination camps, and drew attention to the current domestic and international anti-Semitic phenomena.
The commemoration was closed with praying together the Kaddish for the dead.
